What We Do

Our tools solve real problems that students face when applying to universities locally and internationally

Grade Conversions

Convert CGPA to GPA (4.0 scale), percentage to CGPA, and CGPA to percentage using formulas accepted by universities worldwide.

University-Specific Tools

Calculators built for specific institutions — NUST, LUMS, IIT, VTU, Anna University, Delhi University — using their exact grading formulas.

International Applications

Tools designed for students applying to US, UK, Canadian, and European universities that require grades in a different format than your home institution uses.

Guides & Explanations

Not just calculators — we explain how grading systems work, what IBCC equivalence means, how UCAS points are calculated, and how to report your GPA on applications.

Our Story

CGPA Calcs was started by a small team who understood a frustration that millions of students in India and Pakistan face every year: their university's grading system is different from what international applications ask for, and converting between them is confusing, error-prone, and inconsistent across different websites.

A student with an 8.7 CGPA from an IIT or 9.1 from Anna University should not have to guess what their 4.0 GPA equivalent is. A Cambridge A Level student in Lahore applying to NUST should not have to manually look up the IBCC grade-to-marks table and do the arithmetic themselves. These are solved problems — they just needed clean, reliable, free tools.

So we built them. We started with the most common conversions — CGPA to GPA, CGPA to percentage — and expanded to cover university-specific grading systems, A Level IBCC equivalence, UCAS tariff points, and more.

Why Free?

Grade conversion is a basic need for any student navigating between South Asian universities and international applications. Charging for it would be wrong. All our tools are free and will remain free. We support the website through non-intrusive advertising which never affects the calculator results or user experience.

How We Build Our Calculators

Every calculator on CGPA Calcs is built from primary sources — official university grading policies, IBCC circulars, Cambridge grade boundary documents, and UCAS tariff tables. We do not invent conversion formulas or copy them from unreliable secondary sources. When a university updates its grading policy, we update the calculator.

Our accuracy commitment: If you find a calculation that doesn't match your official transcript, result, or university documentation — please email us. We review and fix every reported discrepancy, usually within 48 hours.

Who Uses CGPA Calcs?

Our users are students across India and Pakistan primarily, with significant traffic from Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the diaspora communities in the UK, USA, Canada, and Australia. Common use cases include:

  • Indian engineering and science students applying for MS programs in the USA or Canada who need to convert their 10-point CGPA to a 4.0 GPA for their application forms
  • Pakistan A Level students applying to NUST, LUMS, FAST, or UET who need to calculate their IBCC equivalence marks before results day
  • Students applying for scholarships like Fulbright, Chevening, or DAAD that require GPA on a specific scale
  • Pakistani and Indian diaspora students who studied locally and are now applying for jobs or further education abroad that ask for GPA
  • Parents and school counselors helping students evaluate their grade standing and university eligibility

Our Coverage

We currently cover grading systems from the following universities and boards, with more being added regularly:

  • India: IITs and NITs (10-point CGPA), Anna University, VTU, Delhi University, Mumbai University, Pune University (SPPU), JNTU, Osmania University, Andhra University, and the general UGC framework
  • Pakistan: NUST, LUMS, FAST (NUCES), IBA Karachi, GIK Institute, and the IBCC equivalence system for Cambridge A and O Level students
  • International: The standard 4.0 GPA scale (USA/Canada), UCAS tariff points (UK), and the general CGPA-to-percentage conversion frameworks

What We Are Not

We are a calculator and reference tool — not an official credential evaluation service. Our results are estimates based on standard formulas and are useful for self-assessment and application planning. For official credential evaluation (required for Canadian immigration through WES, certain US universities, or professional licensing), you will need a formal third-party evaluation from a recognized body like WES, ECE, or ICAS.
